If they had enough space for random throwaway episodes/moments — which they *clearly* did, but not so much now with six episodes left — I would have liked them to break the bank and bring in Matt Smith and Karen Gillan as husband-and-wife Time Masters who just treat Rip Hunter like an absolute joke.

Even young Hitler is like, "Hey, maybe take it down a notch, y'know?"

Maybe I did! But I remember getting crap in an early Arrow review for saying it was hard to watch Alex Kingston as Laurel's mom without thinking of River Song, so I hedged my bets in the other direction here.

I mean what the fuck kind of crazy made-up name is "Alasdair Wilkins" anyway?

Yeah, either pansexual or asexual sounds right to me for Snart. Just seems completely beside the point for me.

Disclaimer: All reviews credited to "Alasdair Wilkins" are actually just the result of infinite monkeys mashing typewriter keyboards.

You should check out my Arrow reviews! I'm just blatantly dropping wrestling-speak in there now. Some of it is just me being a doofus, but I also think wrestling is *super* useful in understanding how the principles of basic, straightforward storytelling work.

As long as they stay the fuck away from Adam Baldwin — who somehow is a worse human being than the actual character Jayne — then I'm fine with that.

That felt sarcastic. Have we ever confirmed that Snart is even into women? I don't think Snart's sexuality matters one way or the other, but I wouldn't mind if both he and Sara were more gay than not (which, given Sara *did* hook up with Oliver — which I'm straight and I totally get — seems about right as descriptions

Sara is really the only true Main Event-er on this roster, so I'm fine with them setting up that feud, but she shouldn't be losing damn squash matches to anybody.

I HAVE ONLY ONE TRUE LOVE AND IT'S RAY CARTER CISCO BARISTA-ING.

I desperately want to believe that, but I think there's a legit possibility that this is just the sort of part Jewel Staite can get in 2016. FURTHER PROOF AS THOUGH IT WERE NEEDED THAT 2016 IS AWFUL AND SHOULD DIE IN A FIRE

Yeah, it's ridiculous they would make Sara job to Vandal like that. Didn't buy it for a second.

I think there's a version of Rip Hunter that Arthur Darvill would be great at playing — based on his work as Rory, I'd describe it as "soulful dork." I suspect there's some degree of intentionality in portraying Rip as a wannabe badass instead of the real thing, so that *sorta* works, but Darvill just isn't all that

It's like when Arrow brought in Ben Browder and did nothing with him. It's dispiriting to realize that all these awesome actors from years-old cult sci-fi shows aren't hot commodoties, WHICH IS WRONG AND INSANE AND I HATE IT GIVE JEWEL STAITE AND BEN BROWDER ALL THE PARTS.

Honestly, I think almost everyone in the ensemble is pretty good! Kendra is probably the only case where I've yet to see much promise from either actor or character, and I think Arthur Darvill might just be miscast for what the show seems to want Rip to be, but everyone else is really, really good (or really

WHY DIDN'T SHE HAVE VISIONS OF THAT TIME SHE WAS A BARISTA I FEEL LIKE THERE'S A LOT OF UNEXPLORED TERRITORY THERE!?

I think it's more the combination of DC-ness and CW-ness that makes me doubt Rip would ever kill a child in cold blood. Either by itself might be okay — hell, look at Bats v. Supes! — but both together makes it hard for me to see something like that happening. But really, it's less about what the show *can* and

Stardust would be a GREAT acolyte for either of those guys. Or just do Eclipso or Despero without Stardust, if you INSIST on not importing professional wrestlers to Arrow for some reason.

I mean, I could get on board with Stardust as basically being the Joker of Arrow, before it's gradually revealed he's not just crazy and really is working for some cosmic (not Darkseid, he's taken) supervillain. I don't think that would be bad at all!
