Yeah…don't feel great about that one (especially when I caught it in the mainentry, only to miss it in the headline). All I can say is that show really feels like an ABC show.

At least for me, it's just about finding something new or interesting to write about on a given week. There tend to be just enough premieres happening on a rolling basis that there's something new to spotlight, even if we're not going to do much with them.

Michelle Monaghan is so, so great. I always feel kinda bummed that she's so chronically underutilized, but I can kinda see why she's a little tricky to find the right starring role for, because I have trouble imagining quite what that would look like. I feel the same way about Guy Pearce, I think (though at least he

I dunno if it's so much a middle finger as it is the writers use a different evaluative formula than what commenters seem to think they do, hence the disconnect.

Oh yeah, I'm firmly in the "people should believe whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, life is hard enough and whatever gets you through the day is fine by me, why are we even discussing something this personal?" camp.

It's less "damn sure I'm right," more "I just don't feel like hedging on something I see no reason to care about in the first place." But maybe that's just me…

Nah, that's more like "searching but spiritual" : "agnostic" :: … well, you can plug back in the rest of the analogy components.

You seen America lately?

Yeah, I realized that was just my inference, hence why I threw in "presumably." But it wouldn't exactly be *shocking* for the sexy doctor on a show called "Heartbeat" to be dating two guys, no?

For the sake of the First Amendment, I hope that's how the appeal plays out.

You're getting that second season of Pan Am whether you want it or not!

Yeah, but likely reduced to $0 and legal fees on appeal.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it's fine. Just reading it out of context got me all tensed up, because Samantha Bee (to her credit!) has been very willing to go after damn near everyone so far.

I feel like there's perhaps cause to restrict the definition of "atheist" a bit, as that's maybe painting with too broad a brush. Like "regular, sometimes good, sometimes bad Christian" : "regular, sometimes good, sometimes bad atheist" :: "Christian conservative" : "hardcore atheist dillweed." Something like that.

Ugh, I actually feel legit anxious about watching that segment now. Then I try to remind myself that part of the point of atheism is that there isn't some mandatory overarching structure (though obviously there's a whole lot of people intent on building something akin to that, a la Reddit Atheism and the like), so

Nah, watch it again more closely, it's all there.

You try telling beema that!

Dude, I wish I was cool enough to uncoolly brag about buying drugs in Belgium.

Northern Virginia really takes its attempt to rebrand itself as "The Rio of the Mid-Atlantic" seriously.
