They are fixing the old builidngs. Yeah, Downtown LA is an interesting place. Ktown, Jtown, Mtown, Skid Row, and etc are located in walking distance.

One of my bucket list items is to go to Downtown Los Angeles at midnight, while it is raining, wearing a trench coat and tie, listening to the Vangelis score, and just walk around the area.
Before Staples Center was built and the yuppies and hipster moved in, Downtown Los Angeles was not a safe place to be at night. Do not listen to Warren Oates— gentrification is a good thing.
