How was the food, MohTaufiqTerrorist? I am a big fan of Thai Food, but I have only had it in my home-state  California. Once I have money, I am planning a trip to Thailand just for the food and the architecture.

To be fair, this is a low budget film (4 million, I remember correctly). He is doing it as a favor to Refn, who, on the request of Gosling, was a gun for hired for Drive.

He knows how to dress. Hollywood might put an emphasis on glamour and fashion trends, but, ironically, most modern actors and actresses are terrible at being fashionable. Gosling has a distinctive fashion look.

Let's be honest, these are genre films. More specifically, these are genre (or, perhaps, exploitation)  films done in an artful manner. I like them, a lot. Better than the most of the mainstream, genre releases by Hollywood.

Refn calls it a Western set in the Far East.
