I drew a similar conclusion about sly marketing. What was the latest successful horror comedy (excepting those Final Destination movies. Zing!)? Both Drag Me to Hell and Jennifer's Body tanked. Of course they don't want to give it too much of a "campy" vibe. Though campy it may turn out to be.

I don't think D'Angelo was a lousy character, per se, in fact I think we were finally starting to get a good handle on who he was. I think that three episodes just wasn't enough time to develop the role.
