Ewa Sonnet
Ewa Sonnet also makes pop music. I'm just sayin.'

@SimonArk:

Had high hopes
I had high hopes for this. I may watch it on cbs dotcom to see if it's really as bad as the AV Club says it is.

DFW
I think his "no unexcused absences" policy is a bit harsh, but he must've found it necessary.

@iRandy: Yeah, they were saving the return of Vincent for the very end.

re: Tori Amos:

For wonderfully unexpected chord progressions (not the sole determining factor of a song's greatness, but noteworthy nevertheless) check out some early Beatles songs like "I'll Be Back," "Things We Said Today," "And I Love Her," and even "Eight Days A Week."

Late To This Thread; Feel Free To Ignore
@ Tasha Robinson: Crane Wife rules! I'm an unapologetic prog-rock fan, and I recommend the album to people as an example of "prog they won't hate, and will probably actually love."

Bleak Comedies
A certain Mr. Kubrick made several films with unconventional, even downright creepy, subject matter—which I personally found pretty darned uproariously funny, but which some people (even those whose opinions I do respect, yes) found unwatchable.

TMBG
Yeah, Mondegreens are quite a delight. I first heard "Don't Let's Start" by TMBG back when Anne Archer was a big movie star, and—to this day!—I cannot hear the lyrics of "Don't Let's Start" as anything but, "D, world destruction, over Anne Archer." Back when I was a kid, I thought it might be some sort of

@Bassethound:

a) How many songs-in-one would "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" be… three?
b) I'll grant that you'd be very unlikely to find that particular track on a jukebox.

Yeah, "Horse To The Water" is great—and I think that George's son Dhani, now of Thenewno2, shares a writing credit on that one. Concert For George has no *bad* songs, but "Horse To The Water" is a standout even on that.

Welcome Back, My Friends…
I'm one of the (probably) few prog fans on here, so I'll just say that I perceive a dropoff in quality between Emerson, Lake And Palmer's first five-or-so albums and the stuff they did later. Others who have their hateswitch soldered into a permanent autohate/ anti-prog mode will almost

Thanks to everyone in this thread who pointed out how good Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is. Macca has had his highs and lows, undoubtedly.

Galorndon Core
According to an obscure work of Dante (Joe Dante, that is), Galorndon Core is a sort of purgatory for ejected warp cores.

THE SCENE: Exterior of a nightclub called "A.V." where people take so much ecstasy that they think El-P sounds good. (With apologies to ELP, Peter Sinfield, et al.):

Welcome back, my friends; the most dismal of all trends / Is getting harder to defend—in Club A.V., Club A.V. / Here behind Ben Linus, an imagin'ry

Clipperton! Back from the dead! So good to see you! ;-)

Finally Saw It!
Finally saw Winnebago Man!

You All Everybody
I want to hear Rivers Cuomo sing "You All Everybody" in the falsetto he used for "Hash Pipe."
