Whoa, whoa there. Darktown Strutters is completely sui generis. Yes, it has black people and elements of blacksploitation cinema but it is so crazy ass fucking weird that is its own category.

I have similar misgivings about Leo as J. Edgar. He might pull it off, though, if he brings the right amount of arrogant, paranoid scumbagness to it.
