It also doesn't help that The Force Awakens was a Star Wars parody anyway. The bad guys doing a third Death Star, with the only change that it's planet instead of moon sized, and the good guys defeating it in a barely existent subplot is a better joke than anything that will be in this movie.

I like musicals and loathe horror movies and still really enjoyed it.
