Tosh is leaps and bounds better than Dane Cook (even if you don't like the Tosh "character" he does on stage). His jokes are a lot more thought out, and don't rely so much on the manic delivery like Dane's do. 

I'll give your analysis an A+. Spot-on.

I noticed this too, and I assume its because the writers are still writing this stuff in Stewart's voice. Maybe after a few weeks, they'll adapt to him a but more.
