It's very powerful indeed, particularly if you have friends or family in the military.

I think they both offer significant rewards…Paul Newman did a remarkable job acting and directing a very dense, seemingly un-filmable book, Henry Fonda is somehow both terrifying and sympathetic.

@ idiot king/little alex - it's hard, indeed, to think of any way Barry Lyndon could have been saved from O'Neal. He was so distractingly awful that it overwhelmed an otherwise stunning film.

Completely under rated, along with "Friends"; you really hear Carl stepping up to take over Brian's spot.

…and don't get me started on "Beach Boys Today." Maybe some of their best ever stuff.

I agree…"Smiley Smile" iss a really eccentric, creative effort with some moments of sublime beauty, regardless of any other version.

@ alruin - McCartney seemed to think they had a rivalry of creativity, and he would be in a position to know.

The reboot of "Seven into Snowy"

Hmm. What percentage, I wonder, of this is them knowing how goofy and phony they are and which percentage do they really think is true or interesting?

…man!

F&S - but were you drunk/stoned at the time?

Exactly so, Aloog.

Caffiene…much love for Turner, "Performance" That should be on Netflix, dammit!

TPB…I agree, though I see that one of the films is available. That's kind of a tough show to explain to people, re: why it's hilarious.

Ditto, Ponzi, it really rescued their most mediocre record

Someone commented, hilariously, on the Dion/ACDC horror film: "Did I died and gone to hell?" LOLCatz stylee…

Yes, yes, Ken, you're right, utterly mind-blowing indeed. It's just surprising to me that a group so famous in one genre would clearly borrow changes from such a different type of act (versus one blues guy copping another blues guy).

Truly, even if "It Makes No Difference" was his only killer vocal, which it isn't.

Really, Yorkie…try working an ACTUAL shitty job sometime, then you can pout…

@ Great Unwashed…yeah, check out "It Might Get Loud in Here" and you'll find out more about Edge's little effects pedals than you wanted to know. In a weird way, he's admitting that he'd be nothing without them…
