I don't know about the other one, but I think I remember reading that About a Boy was pretty good, especially considering that it's coming from Jason Katims, of Friday Night Lights and Parenthood fame. I'd rather that one not die if it's actually any good.

Neil knocking over the trash can? It was immediately followed by dialogue, but the trash can tip was still a self-contained visual joke in and of itself.

It sure did, buddy. It sure did.

3 years? That seems… excessive. All of the interviews with the main cast have indicated roughly one year, so I'd still stick with 8 months.

Fun fact, the pencil sitting on the table at the end of the opening credits is now taped up. Steve, perhaps?

I really doubt it, actually. I remember reading that Fillion's character is only in one episode about the feud between janitors and custodians, and I don't think that's that episode.

For the record, I'm pretty sure that if season 4 was fall 2012, season 5 is fall 2013. We know it's definitely a fall semester, since Hickey references next semester being spring in ITT, so I think having an 8ish month gap between S4 and S5 seems about right.

Joel's AMA, I think.

I'd think that Troy's hesitation to say Pierce's name is a pretty big hint that Pierce is dead.

Yeah, as much as I liked Community, Parenthood had a fantastically devastating episode tonight.

Interestingly, the group's extended tangent on how ridiculous it was that Chang was rehired was more or less the same thing as Annie's tangent in Paranormal Parentage on how weird it is that Pierce has a half brother. People said it was unnecessary and ham-fisted back in season 4, but people haven't seemed to mind it

There was a Harmon interview the other day that said the faculty presence does indeed become a much bigger focus this season. I don't think that'll necessarily be at the expense of study group focus, though, if the shot of Hickey at the study table was any indication. There's also some promo pics of Chang and Duncan

I was mildly disappointed by Professor Garrity's return. It was nice to see a familiar face, but they didn't give him much to do that any generic teacher character couldn't have done.

I couldn't be happier with what was likely Pierce Hawthorne's last appearance on the show. Poignant, funny, mildly homophobic, and tons better than his rushed exit at the end of last season.

REUUUUUUUUUUUBS

Rewatching it, I don't think it was sped up, I think it was just missing the end part.

Oh, also, they slightly shortened the theme song. THE FUCK? I could say that it made sense after taking Chevy out of the credits, but they kept it the same length when they added Rash, so…. what the fuck?

I think the hope of grading consistency between seasons for any show has long gone out the window. When grading shows as they're airing, anyone's opinions and standards will fluctuate depending on the episodes they're immediately comparing them to. A B for Repilot really doesn't mean the same as a B for H101.

B+ for Repilot, A- for ITT.

The entirety of 502 was online about 20 minutes ago. Weird.
