Basically, the forget-me-now made no difference to the plot, really. Michael's misstep was that he continued to see Rebel after he found out that she was seeing GM, and lied about previously knowing that when he ran into GM.

Michael does meet her first, but what makes Michael deserving of the punch is that he continues the relationship after he finds out that GM is the other man, and later lies about having found that out to GM's face. And it doesn't make it any better that his immediate instinct is to try and gloss over it as soon as…
Parts of it are incredibly derivative of Community's Biology 101.
Wow, how did I not know that Torres and Fishburne are married?
I think the actors' schedules were a harder workaround than the budget, if I recall. Hurwitz has said that season 5 would require the family to be together, so I fear that it may be quite a while before they're able to film it that way.
The final AD review makes me sorta sad that S4 is now "officially over". It'd better not take two years for season 5 to come about, dammit.
I already discussed my disdain for the "Recall Leslie" plot above, but your scenario is definitely the one that would ultimately leave me the least annoyed with the storyline. My reservation is that it would be incredibly characteristic of the current state of the show to once again portray the conflict with…
Maybe stunt casting isn't the right word, since I guess Banks isn't THAT big an actor. I guess I'm comparing to something like James Brolin's casting as Jeff's dad, which is a similar category of role being played by a much smaller-name actor.
One of my biggest problems of the back half of the season was definitely how they gradually pretty much expected us to believe that the world pretty much revolved around Leslie. The show has always been exaggerated in its political satire to an extent, but the opposition to Leslie in the season finale was just way too…
Hmm. I liked season 4 more than most (though I still prefer 2 and 3 over it), and I don't think the persistence of their relationship was the biggest detriment to the show at the time. I think that season 4 did a good job of initially counterbalancing Ben & Leslie's happiness with the career-related consequences, but…
I won't deny that Jenny Slate was good casting for Jean Ralphio's sister. I just found the character to be pretty poorly conceived in that case.
Dammit, I wish I had the ability to get more excited about Parks news right now. On one hand, last season's bit of father stunt casting (Jonathan Banks as Ben's dad) was actually pretty great, but last season's attempts to expand the Jean-Ralphio-type character beyond Ben Schwartz himself (i.e. JR's sister, who was an…
You shut your goddamn mouth. Everyone knows that the incomparable James Purefoy, of the great television program The Following, is a far superior actor.
Looking at their Facebook page, they don't seem to have posted it. And I don't know why they would, either. What would they say, anyway? "Here are a bunch of shows that everyone thinks are better than us! Go tell them how wrong they are even though it literally makes zero difference!"
And it's seriously EVERYONE. On the Best Drama and Best actor pages, there are maybe 5 out of 100 comments that aren't praising The Following or James Purefoy. Why did Following fans flock to this website when literally no fans of other dramas did? I'm seriously weirded out by this.
Seriously, what the hell? I have a really tough time believing that that isn't all one guy with a billion accounts.
Wow. More info than I thought I needed, but absolutely fascinating.
WHY IS TROY WHITE
I used to rewatch a ton (I've seen Community S1-3, AD S1-3, Parks S1-4, and The Office S1-8 upwards of 5 or 6 times), but it's only really lately with my pile of shows-to-be-watched mounting ever higher that I feel guilty rewatching.
You enjoying The Wire this time around, then? That's another on my long list of shows that I probably won't get to until next summer or the one after.
