I had the opportunity to meet Vaughan at his NYC signings last month. Holy cow, what a nice guy. He was engaging and really appreciative that people were coming out and buying his new series. I'm not sure why I was surprised by this.

I think Wolf Parade is where most people started listening to Krug's work. He traded off vocals with Dan Boeckner. Sunset Rubdown's Shutup I Am Dreaming is where I really dug into Krug's lyrics. Fantastic writing. That's a really nice jumping off point.

Has idiotking seen the Swedish version?

I totally missed the dragon in the background. Thanks for pointing it out.

I had high hopes for this show, but it was just too David Brentish. During the finale, that shot of looking at Davis through the blinds confirmed my criticism for me. Looked like a scene straight out of The Office with Brent squirming over something. Maybe the second series will pan out to be a little more interesting.

Oh dear god, he's baiting you. Just look away.

@avclub-ad8fd4291fac0d1d7dbfe8d4c83c467e:disqus I was going to say the same thing about "The Mending of the Gown" on their other Daytrotter session. Except they slowed that one down. It's great to hear each piece labored out. The original version was so rapid.

Swan Lake was so great. My brother-in-law recently showed me this video of Krug performing "All Fires" on his last Moonface tour. Worth checking out: http://youtu.be/BXCb-VWqY-s

Also, if anyone hasn't listened to the Sunset Rubdown Daytrotter sessions, they're quite good. Three Colours (from the original SR EP) is especially great.

Absolutely. His lyrics are the very best. I love when he quotes older songs. Or maybe he just has a lexicon that he frequently pulls from?

Sunset Rubdown (in support of Shut Up I Am Dreaming) was a fantastic show. I've also really enjoyed Krug's releases under the Moonface moniker. Apparently, he intends on performing as Moonface for a long while.

It felt like MST3K as we watched it.

So is the mayoral candidate going to have an epiphany about creating programing for athletes in wheel chairs now?

Stan Larsen just really really wants a fire truck.

I'm trying to learn how to replicate the younger son's dopey voice. These are my practice phrases:

Fair enough.

@avclub-90ee95b54c20d0991531360036611c37:disqus Agreed.

I love the Gay Snake. I think my favorite is the smoothie bit in Comedians of Comedy. "Uh, where's your bathroom?"

That scene reminded me of Deadwood. A pimp letting a whore be killed by a murderer who wants to "transform" her. Brought a nostalgic tear to my eye. Or did I read Littlefinger's threat too heavily?
