For what it's worth, it's a funnier movie than I expected. Not GREAT by any means, but I'd recommend it.

Between this, The Men, Cloud Nothings, and Japandroids (my personal favorite), the garage rock/punk sound is really making a comeback.

Didn't Joss Whedon release an apology for the "season 8" Buffy comics? I never did read them, but a friend of mine told me they went pretty far off the rails.

I don't know anything about ballet, so I appreciate you bringing this up. I would just point out that Rimes doesn't make any commentary about the state of ballet, either on television or in real life. The ballet aspect seems incidental; her main complaint is simply the lack of "at least one person of color."

Fair enough. But to address your last point, would that really make her a limited writer? Or rather, any more limited than another writer? Wouldn't it simply be honesty? I don't think any writer has the FULL range of human experience. They're just slicing off a piece here and there and examining/interpreting it.

Isn't Rimes basically advocating tokenism here? I mean, by including a black person literally just for the sake of having one, Rimes would then feel good about her kids watching the show? This type of criticism just baffles me.

Props to Homeland for being a great show, but I can't see it beating Mad Men (or Breaking Bad for that matter, assuming it maintains its current level of quality.)
