I really want to see it because I like the actors (though I'll admit I wasn't too fond of the trailer that came out recently), but I'll probably just wait for it to come on TV or something. I'm trying to be a little more selective about the movies I see in theaters because that shit's expensive.

For Argo, I actually kind of liked that he didn't get too in-depth with the characters. It helped with the more objective (for lack of a better word) tone that he was trying to set and fit with the procedural nature of the story. It reminded me a little of Contagion, though I thought Argo was a better movie than that

The change to the end of the Sonmi story made me actively mad, but I saw it coming, so I can't say I was disappointed. Honestly, aside from the score and the cinematography, I didn't think anything about that movie was particularly well-done. Even the actors weren't given much of a chance to shine.

The entire cast of Seven Psychopaths was good, but Sam Rockwell was amazing. His career seems to be mostly made up of him being good in not-so-good parts (aside from Moon), so I was really happy to see him in a role that really let him all-out act.

The marketing made me a little nervous to see Seven Psychopaths, but I kept reminding myself that the marketing for In Bruges was pretty shitty as well. Luckily, even though I still think In Bruges is a better overall movie, my anxiety turned out to be unfounded.

I don't know what you thought of the book, so maybe you weren't as invested in the adaptation, but I thought it was kind of terrible. While I appreciate the ambition of the movie, the changes they made to the various stories (especially the Sonmi one, though I completely predicted that they'd do that) bugged me to a

Don't give up. I felt sort of like you when I started the book, especially for the first chapter, which was pretty dense. But by the second half, everything starts to come together, and as a whole, I thought it was pretty ingenious.

Woody Harrelson was fucking awesome. It's also just funny and highly quotable. Not best-movie-of-the-year material by any means, but it's one of the most flat-out enjoyable movies I've seen recently (recently meaning the past couple of years). Also, like @avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus said, the fact

@avclub-77b18ff392798e8e52b7f83004902be8:disqus Well, I said that I hated The Notebook, and I enjoyed Crazy, Stupid, Love, so I don't know why I wouldn't want to admit to seeing that.

I know it's your opinion and all, but his characters in, say, The Notebook, Crazy, Stupid, Love and Drive are all completely different. I think he does a good job of playing charismatic yet vaguely sleazy characters.
