I feel like it shouldn't have been that hard for Collins to just get Katniss directly involved in the action. For the most part, I wasn't too pissed off about her not participating in Peeta's rescue and things like that because it made sense that the rebels would be reluctant to allow her into combat. But I was

I mostly agree with you, but I have to say that the two parts of Deathly Hallows are probably my favorite of the Harry Potter movies. I'm not a huge fan of the franchise as a whole, and the obsession with it can sometimes drive me nuts, but I actually thought that the final two movies were the only ones that even sort

I can understand how someone could justify splitting the last Harry Potter book into two movies, not because the narrative is that essential so much as the fact that the book really does consist of two somewhat different stories (finding the Horcruxes or however you spell it and the battle at Hogwarts). I thought Prim's death was shocking and a little sad, but I thought the aftermath of that was pretty much a cop-out. Like you said, Katniss really did almost nothing to help win the war, and so many of the more interesting plot developments happened when she was either not there or unconscious/in the hospital. That

I liked the part about the mutant wolves in the first book. I was actually really disappointed that they didn't include it in the movie; if you take away the mutant part, then it just seems like they're fighting enormous wolves, which isn't all that terrifying.

I think I can understand what you're saying, and I'd probably agree. Besides the fact that the disappointment of the third book kind of ruined the surprise of the cliffhanger at the end of Mockingjay, I thought Collins wasted the characters of Finnick and Johanna. They were interesting newcomers in Catching Fire, but

The first book is definitely the best, but I also liked the second and third parts of Catching Fire quite a bit (I might even venture to say that the second part of Catching Fire is my favorite section in the whole trilogy, though I doubt many people agree with me). As lots of other people have said, Mockingjay has

@avclub-694385500bdfc505ba0a4a8e3d81af19:disqus I personally think the Hunger Games books are miles better than The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, though as I said elsewhere, Mockingjay is a bit of a mess narrative-wise. They're not masterpieces, but they're perfectly enjoyable and mostly well-written.

If anything, there's a ton of stuff in Mockingjay that should be cut. So much of it consists of Katniss just waiting around and not doing anything, and when there is actually stuff happening, it usually gets cut short by Katniss getting knocked out or someone having to rescue her. Basically, I enjoyed The Hunger Games

I know it's subjective, but I don't find Megan Fox and Kim Kardashian attractive at all. Everything about them just seems fake.

Martin Starr is awesome. Actually, everyone from Freaks and Geeks is awesome. That show was just a gold mine of comedic talent.
