I didn't think that about The Dark Knight, but I can see where you're coming from. In particular, the teaser for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher's version) gave me the impression that the movie would be a fast-paced, stylish action thriller - basically, more Fight Club than Zodiac. But the movie itself

Yeah, that one is amazing. That might be one of the few times where the trailer alone was enough to get me excited for a movie. The full-length trailer was decidedly less awesome, though.

I personally got excited for Inception solely based on the vague description about a movie that "takes place in the architecture of the mind". But I doubt most people paid much attention to the movie before the trailers got released, and I wouldn't deny that the they definitely helped amp up my already high

Off the top of my head, I'd probably say the teaser trailer for the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Where the Wild Things Are, the first trailer for The Hunger Games, Blue Valentine, the U.S. theatrical trailer for Prometheus and the teaser for Up in the Air, which

I agree with pretty much all your points, except for the fact that I'm perfectly fine with simply avoiding bad trailers/trailers for movies that just sound crappy. Yes, at the end of the day, all trailers are basically just advertisements, but as you said, the best trailers can be appreciated as works of art on their

That's too bad, but as long as you catch up eventually… I'd mention watching it illegally, but I know not everyone is as comfortable with that kind of stuff as I am. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

I thoroughly enjoy hair metal songs of the '80s, and I think I can say that I'm a pretty big fan of Cruise (as both an actor and a movie star), but the reviews (okay, review) that I read for Rock of Ages really just made it sound pretty terrible. I'm thinking about just listening to the soundtrack on YouTube, staring

That's pretty much what I think of TGWTDT: Lisbeth Salander is a great character (I liked her in the book as well, but Rapace and Mara did a good job of adding some more depth and nuance), but the plot is really not that interesting at all. I really enjoy noir, and I don't usually mind pulp, but like you, I just

I think your list sounds pretty much right (including the three you mentioned below), but I'd also add "The No-Brainer", which is one of my personal favorite episodes of the first season. I thought it was enjoyable and had some really nice character stuff, especially with Peter and Walter's relationship.

I think the first book might be worth reading if you want to see what the fuss is about (I've always been of the opinion that it's best to at least have some exposure to whatever it is you're criticizing, though I'm sure that's made me sound like a hypocrite on numerous occasions), but I really wasn't a fan of it,

If you don't have time to watch the whole season (which I would totally understand, even though I personally feel like it's best to watch every episode - a rule I'm thinking about breaking when I go back to watch old episodes of Parks & Rec), I would recommend at least watching all the episodes with Mr. Jones, "The
