I like GTA side mission, but I refuse to do races. Mostly because they're too difficult for me - at least since Vice City, when you could blow up the other cars with a bazooka before starting.

This hit right to the heart of how I feel about open-world. I also figured out the reason for it, as above.

That sounds right. I never do multiplayer, so I'm not certain though.

People in SD pronounce it "Peer"? For god's sake, why?

Considering the Templars were founded around the 13th Century, would it even be possible to have a game set in ancient time? If so, who would be the antagonists?

To each his own, but I feel you missed out skipping AC: Brotherhood. It was my favourite one.

Never seen D2. But I was quite annoyed that they couldn't identify the antagonists in Cool Runnings!

I won't invite you to the opening of my Hall of Fame of Halls of Fame….

I can't imagine there is a sports game franchise that sells nearly as many copies as FIFA does. Has to be in there.

I agree. I'm not sure from reading this if the HoF is meant to be US or global. But if they solicited votes from all over the world, it is no surprise that FIFA is the large gaming segment's representative. It's massive.

I've only played the one original Link game around the time it was released (maybe it was the 2nd one… the gold one, at any rate. It was a long time ago!). And I'm not a collector of memorabilia.

I didn't mind the first one, except for all the hunting of Templars in remote countryside settings.

III is the last one I've played (Black Flag is on my shelf and later I'll buy the new one(s)). I was surprised about how they handled the modern day storyline at the end. It did feel weird, but perhaps they knew that people like me existed who were getting tired and, frankly, very lost with the aliens/gods/etc going

I'm married to a woman from Hanoi. I can confirm that you are right.

I have to agree with this. There's nothing wrong with your decision, but if you worded it to her as you did to us, I'm not surprised she was upset and cried.

It's possible that I'm just not very good at the game, although I did quite well in AC & the trilogy around AC2.

I was going to make a similar comment. I'd kill a bunch of innocent creatures*, majestic or not, if I thought it would save my wife's life.

I agree. It's satisfyingly jarring to go from calm and emptiness directly to a fight, with no buildup. Particularly on some of the more difficult/frenetic battles.

I forgot about that. I also had a struggle making that jump for a long time.

I nearly lost my mind playing it on one of the later colossus, the one where you have to jump on pillars and then fight it in an arena-type structure. But I liked the game so much, I persevered.
