I was disappointed with the Liam story this week. I enjoyed his chemistry with Rayna on stage and in the studio and I was really hoping that'd play out a bit longer. Another (real or perceived) record-deal-double-cross just feels cheap. And if he's gone for good, well, that's just kind of a waste.

"General Homage" *salutes*

Yes. Season three is bananas at points for sure (Eve, the "Young Americans" crossover, weird class warfare, Andie's terrible hair), but the Joey/Pacey slow-build is one of the best-executed I've ever seen on a show. It's paced very well and the stolen kisses are excellent (yes, I was the show's target young-teen-girl

I totally missed the bit with Alaric's barstool. I'll have to re-watch that scene.

I really enjoyed Matt in this one. I was a teensy bit worried that he'd become a real bummer, guilt- and mope-wise. Instead, he was pretty awesome. And lookin' pretty good at the Grille.

Wait, so you don't believe that it works the way Nigel described it?

I don't think Nick is long for this show and when he got a spot in the top twenty my first thought was "cannon fodder."

That was my impression. Next week is a double elimination to make up for the Fourth.

I just connected that Starla is also Joan Callamezzo

I read somewhere that they named the character Anne just so they could make this joke.

Just in terms of the flashback, Elena will remember it once the compulsion wears off. And she'll also remember that night he told her he loved her (but that he wasn't good enough for her… maybe?) and gave her her necklace back… then made her forget about it.

As much as I wanted to see the Original Doppelganger, I can't figure out how she'd still be around. If Original Mama used her blood to do the vamp ritual, did she die after? Could she have been turned (she'd be one of the first)? I feel like we might only see Tatya through flashbacks…
