And yet you try to say you're not an Israel apologist. Got it. Go learn some history, son. You're misinformed.

"We watch entire movies and entire TV series for just glimpses of those camp moments."
We do?
Let's assume for a moment that we do, there's such a concept known as diminishing marginal returns. Yes, I love artificially-flavored watermelon candies. But that doesn't mean that I want an entire meal composed of them.…
Yes, telling them to leave their homes in a territory with the same square mileage as the city of Philadelphia and go somewhere else when they have no money because they have no jobs within in the apartheid state sounds totally reasonable, doesn't it? The funniest part of this is that you think you're being…
I guess the difference here is that Christians and Jews have the $$$ to execute bombings far more efficient than a suicide bomb. Go check photos of what happened to Lebanon in 2006. Or Gaza last year. The devastation and loss of human life from Muslim suicide bombs pale in comparison to what happened in 2006 and 2014.…
I can't say I agree with your assessment, but we're all allowed to view the show through whatever lens we choose to do so.
I have to ask… which religion are you referring to when you say "They need to learn not to bomb people"? That statement applies to all three religions with equal ferocity.
Oh sorry. I didn't realize you spoke the language.
You're right, I forgot about those recruitment scenes. I mean, what she was saying is exactly what you'd expect someone like her to be saying, but it is surprising that those weren't subtitled.
I kind of like it. The show has that "cut from current events" aspect to it, so the mishmash of current events clips feels appropriate to the narrative at hand with the underscoring of the syncopated and dissonant jazz rhythms / harmonies to give us a glimpse of Carrie's damaged psyche.
As a German speaker myself, I assure you that you're not missing much. He was basically saying "this is crazy, you friggin mofos" when he was picking the journalist up. But I can understand how/why that would be frustrating.
Oof. I'm with Ben Affleck on that one. Maher is conveniently ignoring the equally crazy Christians (Bosnian genocide) and Jews (settlers in occupied territories who support the Likud). All the three major religions have murderous extremists, and singling one of them out to say that "here guys, this is the bad one" is…
Interesting. I don't find the tone conservative at all. I think they did a really good job of presenting both reasonable sides of the argument as far as the journalist and the German CIA-equivalent lady are concerned. I qualify this statement by stating that I'm a card-carrying liberal, but the conservative viewpoint…
Go watch AHS Coven for you to become deathly allergic to any Ryan Murphy show trying to talk about race relations.
I wasn't disagreeing with you. Just adding parallel color.
He occasionally gets it right. The writing for Sarah Paulson's bitchy-yet-victimized lesbian character in AHS Asylum was brilliant. But for every Lana Winters character it's as though it's part of the social contract that we get 5 highly offensive gay stereotypes.
South Park is an equal-opportunity offender which ultimately offends no one because they strike that right balance of humor and obvious satire.
Ryan Murphy is an equal-opportunity offender who unfortunately offends many. I'm trying to understand the distinction between Murphy and Parker / Stone. My preliminary thought…
I know nothing about hacking and it seemed somewhat reasonable (?) to me, but I'll trust your opinion on this one.
I laugh at fictional representations of Wall Street. The shit's not that interesting, people. Like, none of what you see on tv EVER happens.
The idea that information that sensitive would be anywhere close to the internet is laughable. I don't fault the writers for it because they have to tell a fictional story, but something tells me the likelihood of something like that happening in reality is less than 0%.
I confess to watching Scandal for the sole purpose of communicating my hatred for it on the AV Club website.
Well, I used to, at least. It's so bad now that I can't even bring myself to do that anymore.
The Killing was all kinds of wonderful in season 3, but unfortunately the critics and the viewers were too pissed off at the extension of the Rosie Larson case into season 2 that they refused to notice. I'd venture to say season 3 was up there with the best of the best that year, including — gasp — Breaking Bad.
Since when have fidelity issues impeded humping whomever Carrie chooses to hump?
