This season especially has been great with the long sequences where a piece of classical music or guitar runs over. Much more appropriate than some upbeat rock song.

Don't listen to radio and don't have cable at home (just moved to different country) so I discovered her through the Vikings promo where Glory and Gore was used. Thought she was small time cause couldn't find any decent youtube clips but she's pretty big apparently. Only found out Royals was a hit because of this

My general thought on religion is that I like it in theory but the execution of it by people is generally flawed cause people are dicks. Best case is people using the Bible to literally lift passages out of context so that they can impose their own morals on their fellow men. Like gays and abortion and all that. As

To me religion has always had 2 goals: one being a manual of moral guidelines and the other to give meaning to things that may or may not hold any. The former is obsolete as we have secular law now (and most of it isn't followed except by selective fundamentalists that twist it to fit their own agenda) and the latter

FF TPB Vol1: Very funny, but I still feel cheated that the first 3 issues are in a different TPB. Seriously don't get the logic behind it and my autistic side refuses to get that Fantastic Four trade just to complete it. Bought them at Comixology instead and I'm glad as it introduces important stuff.

This is why I like the AV Club. I read absolutely devastating reviews and think "geez, lighten up" and then I read really positive ones that look for way too much in the movie and think "what a load of pretentious bull". And the AV Club often gets it right for me with a good rational explanation and never forgetting

I'm just saying that the world has never been changed by a naysayer. And that's all you sound like. Hiding behind "that's the way it is so we can't do anything about it". But hey, I am actually looking forward to the movie and I'll see for myself. FNL is my favourite show ever and Berg has made some decent movies, and

Apparently wars are kinda disappearing all over the world. The ones still going would be considered skirmishes historically speaking and we've never had as little wars. violence, crime,… ever in the history of mankind. We are on the right path even though the sensationalization of violence and crime in the media tries

Thanks. Just looked up Multiple Warheads. Graham sure likes his six legged animal cities. :D I read Prophet yesterday and it was brilliant. Cant wait to read the second TPB.
Glory looks intriguing, the many forms of the main character are definitely an eyecatcher and offputting/ awesome at the same time.
Punk Rock

Thanks. Will look into it. I do like Morrison. Marshal Law, I've seen mentioned here.

Is it still good without any connection to the characters? I liked the first issue but it might be a bummer if it's like the title says, style>substance.

This is my first posting in these comic threads but I've been reading them for a couple of months now. Just wanted to let the community in general and the writers know that it's been fun and educational to read these topics. Finally bought some paperbacks of the stuff that was on my wishlist:
Battling Boy
Saga of the

I saw it a while ago and found it a very strange viewing experience to be honest. I didn't know if I really liked it but after a day, I realized that any film that could keep me thinking about it for that long was a good movie in a way. Rationally I think the good things (cinematography, atmosphere, soundtrack,…)

Their movies are set in Belgium. We are a trilingual country with the top half being Flanders, where Dutch is the official language (bordering on The Netherlands as well). The bottom half is Walloon where French is the official language (bordering France of course). They were born in Liege and raised in Seraing,

I feel I have to correct a small mistake in the article above, in the first paragraph it says:
"to a pair of Flemish siblings".
They are actually Walloon and not Flemish. They speak French, their movies are in French and they were raised there.

It's weird, I was using the puppy party gif and "so kyute" clips on facebook with friends. First time I did that and I thought "man I love this show. I hope it finds a new home" but now this? Cruel joke, Chance, cruel joke!

Whatever Happened … is incredible. I loved All Star Superman and think Red Son is brilliant in many ways but Whatever Happened actually moved me to tears. In only 2 issues Moore manages to get across everything that is wonderful and tragic about the character.

Agree. I've only rewatched three shows: Friday Night Lights, Archer and Parks and Recreation. I enjoyed the hell out of it each time but as you say, there is so much good stuff out there that I'd rather spend my time discovering something new.

I realize that language and media exposure (Scandinavian Krimi wave) are 2 of the biggest factors that play into your choices but a little digging and getting in touch with foreign friends/colleagues or so would go a long way I think. Don't get me wrong, it's a good list, just a bit easy maybe.

I agree, the best television is being made in the US I think or it's that the American sensibility lies closer to my own than the European ones due to tv indoctrination from when I was a kid (j/k).
