@dbo: I concur. Even Eels' "bad albums" are pretty solid.

AHEM!
Ross Wolinsky can feel free to go ahead and eat all the dick.
Yeah Shootenanny! was a one off to fulfill his contract with Dreamworks. Next came Blinking Lights which was FREAKING SWEET. This album is not quite that good but it's right up there. Wolinsky can go ahead and eat all the dick.
I don't generally mind the stand alone episodes. In this case, however, I was really hoping for some mythology because of (A) how awesome August was and (B) such a long lay off.
@Aueturd: God. Damn. It. Some of us were waiting for the DVD.
Yeah, you didn't miss much.
@Eli Jah Rasta: I can. It kind of gives me a halfy.
I had glanced down at my phone to read a text message and literally jumped out of my seat when I heard the gunshot. I didn't even have the half-second of advance warning you get from seeing Saunders/Whiskey pull the gun before she fires.
Yes, I definitely got the impression the scene of Caroline infiltrating Adelle's office happened before she met Bennett. The scene in which Caroline rescues Bennett from the sorority girls at lunch happened because Caroline needed Bennett.
The Hand That Feeds
I know Trent Reznor played this as an indictment of the Bush administration while in concert, but I always felt The Hand That Feeds fit better as an indictment of commercial radio. Especially in light of the fact that "With Teeth" was the ONLY album he didn't have to fight a label to get released.
@buttercup: The announcement of the cancellation was made before the last several episodes were filmed. It seems likely there will be some sort of conclusion, even if it's as wide open as Angel (which seems likely, what with Epitaph One and all).
@J.Goo: I had the exact opposite reaction. I had to sit and think for a minute before I was able to get it in any other context other than a breaking-the-4th-wall moment, referencing the fact that the writers had no idea when (or if) this episode would air.
