The dead dog stuff was just weird. It totally derailed a major reveal of Erin Whitehead's character and never did anything all that memorable or interesting with it at all. I could overlook it if it came earlier in the show, but the insane backstoies that (some) characters on CBB have is almost always a huge source

Caramel and Scott have a really entertaining rapport.

There are people that don't like Janet Varney and her laughing.

I'm always happy to see Anamaria Marinca getting work. Also, Sharlto Copley playing a non-manic character was strange.

Nothing too exciting, but I watched Kill List on Friday night. It's the first Ben Wheatlery movie I've watched. Parts of it were great, the accents were impenetrable for much of the first half, but goddamned if I can't get that ending scene and shot out of my brain. I give it about a 2.5/4 or so.

Station Eleven for me (and I know I'm not the first to say this) was A Visit From The Goon Squad minus a little bit of fat and in a much more vibrant setting. I'm a sucker for unpredictable entanglements between disparate characters.

Marble columns!!! Johansson has always been pretty reliable.

Verbing weirds language.

I saw a trailer for this last year. I don't remember what movie I saw (Whiplash maybe?) but everyone was laughing throughout the entirety of the thing. So ridiculous.

Spiritualized - Cop Shoot Cop (Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space)
Tom Waits - New Years Eve (Bad As Me)
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack (Kid A)

Comparing an author/book to any difficult Delany makes me want to run in the opposite direction as fast as I can.

After loving The Luminaries I am now reading Eleanor Catton's debut The Rehearsal and am really liking it.

Aye. 'Twas a marvelous Morch!

With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus killed it this week!

Good one.

His trip to Finland was amazing.

"What devilry is this?!"

Even that is no George C Scott reacting to the Jack & Jill trailer.
