For those who haven't dove (dived?) in, The Snake is really a good record. About half of it sounds like above-average Pogues songs (and in a more classic Pogues-ish style than most of the songs on Peace n Love and Hell's Ditch) and the other half are in a variety of styles, including some great ballads and

Back in the 80s, my friends and I always considered it to be sort of the ultimate Pogues song. I prefer the pre-Steve Lillywhite stuff these days, but it's still a fave of mine.

I'm not sure if Muirshin Durkin is officially a "b-side" or not, but if it is, it is an unbelievably good b-side.

It's a world that's so scary that our families cannot possibly understand it. In fact, we are certain that the simple knowledge of our work day would

Anna Gunn's Rita will be the pasty remake.

I agree that those two have probably the best melodies. Love the groove on New You, especially.

I've listened through the record about 4 times now. I really love the sound. Definitely m b v, as the title says. But I'm not hearing many great melodies or hooks.  Anyone else having this experience? Loveless, for all of its noise, is packed with great compositions, some of which are almost bubblegummy. It took a

Yes, it reminds me a lot of Sometimes. I don't think the melody is as good, but then again it took me about a decade to really appreciate Sometimes!
