I always thought a lot of people were sort of taken with 300 because Snyder's style was totally out of nowhere at the time yet completely in sync with the rising popularity of video games. That effect has obviously played to rather diminishing returns.

I think the key thing they mention up top is that it's unearned. If this was the second film or whatever, and Superman was forced to kill someone and there was fallout, that could be a good story. Just instantly doing it with no regret is not in line with the character at all.

Uh, Goyer is kind of a shitty writer?

Man. I'm glad I read this stuff. Between it and the Pa Kent thing…

Nah, Clark just alerts Superman via a chemical in his hair that's activated when he runs his hands through it.

Huh, I thought there were rumors going around saying there was.

I dunno, the cartoon was pretty great.
But yeah, a film would likely suck.

I totally get why they wouldn't have Luthor in it both because he's more interesting when he views himself as a positive rep of humanity (and not as a crook), and because they are probably following the Batman Blueprint (TM) and will have him as the main villain of the second film.

Does he ever get the curl?

Isn't the thing in the movie that it's like the undersuit for Kryptonian armor or something?

@avclub-7aefa9e2af18cd9e2fde628a5e813aa5:disqus Well, I'm sure some people just saw one of the previous Marvel films, none of the others, and then watched The Avengers. When you have a film that's a sequel to like five other separate films, you're increasing your potential audience by at least a little bit.

"I've made a huge mistake."

That both kills me and pisses me off. Honestly, I don't know if I want to see the movie based off that alone. It's so fundamental. They didn't change how Batman's parents died. Why would you change Pa Kent and how important he is?

Firefly DLC announced but then later canceled.

Yeah it's a great one.

There was no greater disappointment in my childhood than renting Superman 64 for the weekend, slowly realizing I had rented the worst game possible and was stuck for it for the weekend, gathering the resolve to take my parents to see if I could exchange it, and then walking in on my parents having sex.
