I don't think he's asking for realism. The real criticism is: "The battles had light-hearted results like the book, but the actual fighting was more like LOTR.  Tonal inconsistency ruined it for me."

Yeah, this album—I think admittedly on their part—culls heavy from that and Carpenter era soundtracks.

Yeah, sounds about right. I was rewatching S1 and caught in like episode 3 Cat sayign something like "Your father has been gone for a three months" or maybe it was a month. Still, it seemed like a looong time, and then I started to realize I have no idea how long anything is taking.

Not to mention that Tyrion is apparently supposed to be uglier than Peter Dinklage actually is.
