This might be one of my favorite comments ever.

I feel like the design makes a lot more sense for The Thin Red Line. Though, I get what he was going for with this one too.

I think the heaven scene makes a lot more sense once you work through the rest of his filmography (there are echoes of it in several places, particularly The Thin Red Line). I think it comes from a place that's more a Romantic notion of the individual and the sublime, and the human compulsion to feel like a part of

I ran into him in a bar near my apartment in Brooklyn once. Was just sitting there and started talking to the guy next to me. It wasn't until like halfway through talking to him that, in my mind, I realized "HOLY FUCK I KNOW WHO THIS GUY IS." Kinda felt like a total dumbass. Never did say anything about it to him.

Yeah, it should definitely be noted that the Republicans are actually freaking out about the line in that song.
