Uh, I thought it was pretty obvious.

It didn't even seem horror to me, so much as forced "weird" imagery. Maybe they do more with it, but I thought a lot of it was pretty pointlessly showy which isn't really how I think good psychological horror works.

Yeah, gave it a B myself. I don't see the visuals Todd is praising as it seemed like your normal poorly lit, desaturated stuff, and I thought it tried way too hard with the "weirdness." Could end up good, but it seemed like a lot of disconnected scenes. Feels like Todd is more rating the first five episodes here and

Yeah, he recently tweeted that he's leaving next Friday (I think).

Call him, Jordo. He's at your house… right. now.

Ah fuck. Don't compare it to that. Now I'm gonna have to go and watch it.

I really liked the Awake pilot, but I didn't much care for the next episode. Need to get around to watching some more of it.

It's working now. It was actually the first thing of his I was googling for. One of his best recent reviews.

Yeah, a really wonderful sentence. I'm going to miss Scott, too.

Yeah, said that aloud.

It's because Ebert wasn't just a celebrity. He was an actual writer who, if you had any shred of interest in pop culture, was always a presence. He was always a guide, always an advocate, always a critic, and always an debater. Most of all, though, he was always a hero in the world of art for me, and it always fucking

Agreed.

Same. I refreshed the page, sort of jumped and spoke aloud when I saw the headline, and then just stared at it for a second unbelieving. That it came so close to that other one makes it more surreal.

He's really good on the Crumb commentary with Terry.

I looked at this and said "Holy shit" aloud in my office.

Yes, please.

God, The Raid was so fucking awesome. The asskicking that was done in the knife fight hallway scene basically transcended into art.

Hey, I heard that show wasn't bad! Not nearly as good as Girls I was told, though.
