We got some bad newa about my mother's health on Thursday, so to help me feel better, a friend took me to see Magic Mike. I really kind of loved it and not just for all the sexy sexy eye candy. But also, I really loved the sexy sexy eye candy.

I had a busy weekend, so not a lot of pop culture consumption. I watched Megamind with my five year old, which wasn't bad. Not Pixar good, but far better than some other kids movies like Ice Age. I admit I laughed out loud every time Will Ferrell mispronounced a common word like Hello or School. Then my son and I

I was a little old for the show on first airing, but I discovered it after I had my first kid and was on maternity leave. It was seriously the only thing to drive away the baby blues. At the time it was on four times a day. Twice on Disney and twice on ABC Family.

Yes, but at the series end, Eric had the funniest scene in the whole show. Plays With Squirrels.

I wrote a blog post a while back about how Cory and Shawn were America's first gay high school couple. I thought it was obvious, but a lot of people disagreed with me. Then a writer for the show left a comment that the writers were aware of the gay vibe and some of them, herself included, did consider Shawn and Cory a

My five year old is just starting to get interested in comics. He saw me and my husband reading the Sandman graphic novels and decided he wanted his own. He really likes MarvelAdventures and (unfortunately) the Sonic the Hedgehog comics. It's weird, because he's young enough that he still needs to be read to, and

remember that episode of Boy Meets World when Shawn dressed as a girl? I loved that episode, it was my favorite. I would rather watch that a thousand more times than watch ten seconds of this. Also, Rider Strong was sexy as Veronica Wasboyski.

I've tried watching The Middle, and can barely get through an entire episode. I find Patricia Heaton shrill and annoying. I think if someone else played the mom, I might actually like the show.

You know, there are only so many ways Todd can say week after week after week, that these plots are going no where or winding up to fast, that the characters act out of character too often, that the show only exists to sell iTunes, that Will is a douche, etc.  So I say Kudos to Todd for finding increasingly

Because the booze lobby is powerful.

Right. That was my point before, which I didn't really get across. Failing to register is a separate crime, and if CA is a mandatory minimum state, he very well could have been serving two years for failing to register for a fourth degree sex offense. I hope not.
Well, now I can't stop thinking about this guy again.

The first AV Club article about this guy was the most horrific thing I'd ever read or heard - and I attended a few rape survivor support groups. I've probably thought about that poor woman every day since reading it. I really wish I could go back and unread it.

This review reads like a D+/C-. The grade given seems a little arbitrary. Also, this show sounds terrible, but I generally think that about all cooking competition shows.

Hey now, not all us suburban housewives watch TLC to feel better about our own sad lives. I'm among that group, and I've never even heard of WE TV. Is that a real thing? I do judge the moms on Toddlers & Tiaras, though no differently than any other commenter here….and I'm guesing I'm one of the few suburban

If the prose is good enough, even a book about boring people does not have to be a boring book. That's Franzen, in a nutshell.
