Was it? I just thought they were embarrassed about the negative publicity.

It may have cost them something, but I wish they went ahead and namechecked the Gregory Brothers for it. For a show that is at pains to be pop culturally aware, to situate a Schomoyo-style autotuned viral video at the center of the plot but NOT say the name of the actual people who are most famous for doing those came

Inaccurate! This I know I remember. The angels who visit Lot in Sodom are handsome men, and the angel who visits Tobiah and Sarah looks like a dude. ETA: Also the angel who saves the three guys in the furnance whose names are hard to spell. So OT is full of dude-angels.

This is based on my assuredly faulty Sunday school memories, but I recall there being a lot of truly alien-looking angels in the Bible, especially in prophetic visions. Lots of extra eyes and wings, in the odd places. I think the word angel just means messenger, right? So the divine messengers who show up are

Also, I loved how genuinely ecstatic Abbie and Ryan were when they saw the Beekman Boys enter the building in first place. It's good to see friends be happy for friends.

This season was so awful I just couldn't bring myself to care who won, and the Beekman Boys are nice enough—but then, all the final four teams were basically okay.

The actor was Derek Waters. I only know this because he was on the Who Charted podcast a few weeks ago, did his Suburgatory "Southern gay" voice for a bit, and the hosts thought he was doing a Zach Galifianakis impression.

Absolutely no one.

Absolutely no one.

I loved it because it was terrible. The writers are so off-and-on with Grace, finding ways to portray her basic innocence, her religiosity, and her social awkwardness sometimes, but just as often badly misplaying it. Correcting her mom to say "Christian" and not "a Christian" works; typing "sex" into Google doesn't.

I think you're right. I think we were meant to read it as a really sketchy move, since he's willing to sacrifice Cary, Cary's friend, and the AA woman to avoid bringing her in.

The show hasn't found its groove this season, that's obvious. They just keep piling up different storylines, but there's very little actual development on any of them. For me, this season's episodes have lived and died on the strength of the case-of-the-weeks and guest actors.
