Damn! I knew I forgot something.

Beg pardon? Are you by any chance a member of Schedule 2?

I'm as sure about it being a guitar as Peter Venkman is about using his instruments correctly.

That song is a goddamned workout. It's wonderful, and the louder the better.

A thousand times yes to Digital Love. Yes. Yes. Yes. I could spooge right now just thinking about it. There's a little solo, and then a rest, and then the solo comes back and destroys the world with orgasms.

Pinkerton gets remembered for being all emo-y, but it's really a guitar-y good time. The drum sound on that album is ferocious too (for them).

Ooh! Thought of another one — seek out an album called "New Parade" by The Sheila Divine. That thing packs in so much cathartic guitar rapture that it's still a favorite a dozen years later.

How 'bout The Posies? Nobody seems to remember them much these days, but they slathered their first two albums with gorgeous guitar interplay. They were the power-pop band with the best chops of that era.

@avclub-920530cb8744c679e3a2ece84f1d5ce4:disqus , you're my Feels So Good lovin' buddy. I once did a thing on stage where I forced an audience to watch me talk about that song while I played it on a record player. It was the 90s! What do you want, NON-pretentious performance art?

Mr. Dyess-Nugent, Calvary Cross is an AMAZING choice. There are some live versions of "Shoot Out The Lights" where he matches this solo, but I suppose that's a more obvious pick.

Sims has declared the show "a chore to watch"?
*sigh*
These reviews are going to become a chore to read.

Watch it again. May (who was holding that bottle) was followed into her room by (using the very most basic understanding of film grammar, here) Ward.

I guess you're right, but those other shows DO strike me as a little safe.

Wait - Hannibal is "safe and inoffensive"? You've seen that show, right? You know it's far and away the most gruesome show that's ever aired on a network?

Jeez, tough crowd.

Why Archmage, I daresay you're implying that I don't know how to clear a cache!

Am I nuts or are there no no pieces of content on the front page today apart from reviews? I can't see any feature pieces that weren't there yesterday, and it seems like that's the first time that's ever happened.

I had a good time with Thor Harder, and I like the pulpy, Flash Gordon-y combination of chainmail 'n' lasers. But man, it doesn't really stick with you. It was like disappearing ink, fading from my memory even as I was still watching it. It dares to answer the question "will Thor save London from Space Elves?" with a

I watched Frances Ha twice this weekend! Loved it a lot. It's a step forward for Baumbach as a craftsman; I've always felt like he was a great writer but a vanilla director before. This one changes that.

That front page is ca-RAZY. It looks like a big ol' blob of nothin' on my browser. That goes on forever. Is there a point at which I should think "it's safe to stop scrolling now — I've used up the actual content"?
