The Nerdist. Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael. Love those two and it's otherwise a fun listen, but at one point they start discussing the various gyms around L.A. and their respective personal trainers, and it just keeps going on and on for longer than would seem possible until the listener finally steps out and

Guys, he's firsting us! GET HIM!!

I went to high school with a guy named Martin Cloonan, and in a moment of weakness/inspiration I nicknamed him Batteries Martin Cloonan. While I continue to find my own mildly amusing pun hilarious, I regret sticking him with a nickname that pretty much makes no sense.

That's clearly Steve Coogan.

Detective Munch retired in 2013.
The screaming in my head began in 2013.

Thanks for that! I have the same old dumb problem I always have, which is that I have to use IE at work. It renders The Dissolve completely unreadable, but it seems to be working well enough with NuDisqus. I just prefer the pagination.

I'm just goint to pitch a pair of Disqus-related questions out there:
1. You know the thing where your comments used to appear in pink, making them locatable? Is that just gone, or is this a thing where my browser is failing me?
2. Do other people generally make an effort to "load" all of the comments? I'm not certain

Well it's a pretty widely well-liked film, which makes Sims's offhand dismissal ring a little bit strange. You can get away with a simple "barf" as long as you can reasonably expect that a big portion of your audience will go along with your shorthand, but that seems unlikely here.

Almost Famous just gets a "barf" from Sims.
Huh.

Bob Odenkirk & The Birthday Boys is the Batman & The Outsiders of comedy troupes.

It sounds like you have something you'd like to share. Need to share.

Oh, and Todd — I went to high school with a guy named Va! He was older than me, would have been class of '93 I think, which probably rules out the possibility that this is "your" Va. But still: two Vas!

Had every issue of Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham.

Todd, I'd certainly rather have you postpone the finale than to hand off the review to someone else at the very end. I KNOW you're saving your most embarrassing story for last, and I need closure here. Please… let's just talk about this.

"Ya" is a phonetic transcription of certain pronunciations of "you"; "yeah" is an informal synonym for "yes".

So did the new Disqus also make the comments themselves more unendurable or what?

Got no human grace.

Burton's crowning achievement.
If Pee Wee's Big Adventure is Burton's Please Please Me and Beetlejuice is his A Hard Day's Night, then Ed Wood is his Revolver.
The only problem with that is that almost every film he's made since then is his Give My Regards to Broad Street.
