Their take on Claire is a bit of stretch. She's not the voice of reason in the show. Viewers aren't laughing at her attempt to "maintain normalcy", their laughing at her exaggerated mannerisms.
The main thought going through my head is "They better not fuck this up".

Well, they're basically only androids in appearance, not function. In fact, there's no reason they should even resemble humans other than convention and familiarity.
