What's wrong with creating a new Disqus account?  It's about as easy as it is here, I think (you may need an actual e-mail account).

The worst thing about New Disqus is having to continually click "Show More Comments".

Has there ever been another instance in the history of the internet in which a new site opened up and its entire commentariat was essentially just ported from another site?

The comments section for the review of the most recent episode embodies a lot of what I absolutely loathe about the AV Club.

Are there any talk shows that aren't essentially disposable?  I find it pretty enjoyable, but like most of Comedy Central's new shows, I probably wouldn't care that much if it was cancelled (and if I had cable, I wouldn't care enough to watch it live).

It goes both ways.  You shouldn't need to follow his off-stage persona.  You just need to recognize that the on-stage persona is a joke/parody, which should be obvious..
