NO LIFE DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY
@Big_Knife:disqus I think you're missing the most important part:
@avclub-cad44517b35950ca85cffe44458ff25a:disqus Dude, it was strange enough that you have never watched The Simpsons, but you've read every review of a show you've never watched?!
Their standard of "success" is measured by how much more of the production costs they can convince out-house production companies like Sony and Gaumont to pitch in for.
This has been a crazy week of (kinda) good news:
- AD4 comes out
- Harmon might come back for COM5
- Hannibal is renewed
@avclub-5b7e0a1ad5d9ac9ef3063b05f55b6d31:disqus I scrolled down until it told me it would never reach equililbrium. The result:
Just power the fuck on dude. It will be worth it.
Obviously a few of the best sitcoms of all time came from the 90's, but generally, I don't think the competition was nearly as fierce as it is today (or rather a couple years ago, before everything got canceled), so that maybe it's not that controversial of a statement.

makes film a unique form is important to us.
Well, it's not so much that I would find that kind of discussion uninteresting or without merit, but that I don't understand why you have that expectation for this particular review and reviewer. The AV Club reviewers generally don't seem to be experts in the mechanics of comedy - They've typically written about the…
I just looked that film up on Wikipedia, which led me to the actual story. Apparently the only suspect they had for the prank caller was acquitted in court (but Wikipedia heavily suggests that he is guilty). Talk about depressing.
I'm pretty sure most of these words exist solely to keep the illusion that Miriam-Webster Online is the only "premiere" dictionary. They don't appear in other online dictionaries like dictionary.com or thefreedictionary.com.
Has a review here at the AV Club ever put "comedic value" as its primary focus? I'm not sure you could write a review like that that would work here. Like, "I found this joke funny because ha ha ha"…and that's it. It makes sense to discuss those things in the Stray Observations and comments, but can you make a…
