Friday night, I went to see Spirited Away at a local movie theater's Studio Ghibli fest. God, what a perfect movie; seeing it again on the big screen just reaffirmed all my love. It's definitely my favorite Miyazaki, and just gorgeous.

Every time I see the trailer (which, don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to this movie hardcore; this and Gravity were my two most anticipated in 2012 movies, and with Cuaron's movie moved to 2013, Looper is it), I wonder why they couldn't have made Bruce Willis look like JGL rather than the other way round.

I'm always ambivalent about movies in which 'bitches be crazy' is the prevailing theme, but I admit, I was pulling for this to be a good movie; there are not enough movies that examine the weird jealousy and competitiveness that can underlie some female friendships.

You might just be right… but I think I need to rewatch season 3 to really be sure. There are a handful of great episodes + I love how the characters deepened, but there are long stretches of mediocre eps, too.

Started In Cold Blood for the second time… my first try through the book, I loved it but it was just too damn effective; it was too claustrophobically depressing and sad to finish. I hope I can get through it all this time around.

I think season 2 is better than season 1, and 3 is something I'm still up in the air about.
