Spider-man & Dr. Strange
Reading the write up of "Spider-man : Fever" made me think of the graphic novel Bernie Wrightson did in the 80s called "Hooky". I loved the images of Spider-man in a mystical environment in that story. And while I'm sure a lot of that had to do with Wrightson's artwork I still think

I would love more from D'Angelo. And "Heathen" is a really good album.

I agree that they never really seemed to get their due. "Chrome" and "Ferment" are both awesome rock albums.

Lauryn Hill
The world needs more really great female R&B singers. She's still so young and has so much promise. I hope she comes back from crazytown soon.

Glad to hear you're fond of the Moore era, Keith. I too, grew up on those movies and mostly embrace them (Moonraker is a ball of shit, though). But the Moore movies can be hard to defend. I guess you either accept the silliness and realize they are a completely different animal from the books or you don't.

The comic was good
I know this is about the movie, but since you mention it, I thought the recent comic book was good in a dumb action story kind of way. It was exciting, if 2-dimensional. Not sure how you can fuck up that story. It seemed like a slam dunk for a movie.

Chartex, you hit the nail right on the head. I often feel like a Ron Howard defender because he's made at least a few movies that I find quite entertaining even if they were straightforward and workmanlike in their direction. So what if they don't have a lot of stylistic razzle dazzle? He gets the job done and

That's a good question. I'm guessing it's because Desmond has some Jacob in him. The same way that Smokey took over Locke, I think after Jacob "died" he may have taken over Desmond. Specifically after Widmore's electromagnetic experiment on Desmond.

With lightning-fast service like that, who needs more hospitals? Dr. Jack is on the job! He can do spinal surgery on Locke with one hand, remove a bullet from Sun with the other hand and deliver Claire's baby with his foot.

He may as well have said he had one day left till retirement. Or shown everyone a picture of his girlfriend back home.

What you're referring to, Lenin, is "Mighty Heroes" from the 60s. Apparently also with some directing work from Bakshi.

It actually makes me feel better about them that they are having more down-to-earth success than if they had become big NBA stars. I'm not sure why. I guess it just seems like a more sustainable, dependable kind of happiness.

I'm pretty sure you recently mentioned something about watching "Teen Wolf, Too". So, Nathan…

Star Trek
While we're at it…

I think we just triple teamed George Lucas.

Star Wars
It seems obvious and tired at this point, but I still find myself amazed at how George Lucas could go from changing the face of pop culture and the way people make movies to being someone even his geekiest of fans want to just shut up and stop doing things.

Strange show
I didn't really laugh at it and yet I saw what they were trying to do and I appreciated it. It's basically a very dry spoof. I guess it's not surprising that it didn't get picked up.

On the "Blazing Saddles" dvd they include the pilot episode for the spin-off TV series called "Black Bart" starring Lou Gossett Jr. Surprisingly it's not as funny as the movie.

Come on. That line about "I dunno…listen to Jim Croce, whatever white people do" was pretty funny.
