only 5?
I don't want to sound ungrateful, Keith, because I really enjoyed this (don't tell Nathan, but you were even funnier than he is), but… only 5? I was totally getting into this, and then it just ended so quickly.

I'd also like to throw in some 'Apocolypto' love. For a movie with a bare bones plot and very little dialogue it was just exciting as hell.

"If someone throws a boomerang, don't try to catch it, because it might not be a regular boomerang, it might be a really sharp boomerang and… hey, it just cut off all of my fingers."

guitar guy weirdness
Was anyone else kind of skeeved out by the whole thing after Michael Perrelli's audition? I mean, the way his mom came at him like she was gonna make out with him or something and then him pushing her away and another family member telling one or the other not to do that and then Ryan scolding

It's like 'All Quiet On the Western Front' meets 'You Got Served'.

slcgrad - can you clarify for everyone. Are you supposed to cook the pig lips or eat them as is from the jar?

Forget the Mickey Rourke story, here's the real news : Mary Hart is quitting the drudgery of glitzy entertainment news and joining the live sex show circuit in Amsterdam with her amazing SEIZURE INDUCING VOUCE!

I see what you're saying about the order/chaos shift, but those are changes in plot not so much in tone. Kubrick and his characters still have a cool detatchment about what's happening when they're in Vietnam. That tone works well with the Paris Island stuff to convey the rigid discipline and dehumanization but in

And the tone doesn't really shift either. The characters have the same hollow, emotionless detachment throughout the whole movie. Frankly I think Kubrick has a lack of tone and narrative focus in the second half of the movie and doesn't seem to know what he wants to say about what's happening. It makes the second

Yes. And while we're at it 'Dog Soldiers' is a must-see for werewolf movie fans (actually they're wolf-men but whatever). The first half is like 'Predator' with wolf-men and the second half is like 'Night of the Living Dead' with wolf-men. It's gory and fun.

Biggest Mistake?
It's easy to make fun of Chevy Chase for all the crap he's put out over the years coupled with his shitty attitude and lord knows he deserves it and lord knows I've joined in making fun myself from time to time, but… I do feel like recognition should be given to him for 'National Lampoon's Vacation'

I see. And what about a 'Synecdoche, New York'?

What kind of extra points do I get for calling 'Donkey Punch' as the cause of death?

Karatloz - I think it's called a 'Muffin Masher'.

Getting punched in the back of the head feels really good?

Well now you have to tell us what you thought it was.

I'm sorry…
…but with a name like Cornelia Funke you're not allowed to be an author of young adult books. You must be the bad ass lead singer for an all-girl version of Parliament.

What about 'Cleveland Steamer : The Movie'?

So is a Benjamin Button some kind of sex move I've never heard of?

Sober Reality
I know that you're only talking about the characters in the film and not making a general statement about abuse victims, but when you make a statement like "they'll never be okay" it seems somewhat cruel. I'm no councilor or abuse victim myself, but it seems to me that one of the most damaging things
