And who couldn't have thought that Elton John was a studly hetero man back then?

Oh, hai Mel!!

Need to be in Williamsburg for there to be irony involved.

Well, I never said I'd stop making epic recaps. I mean, this, for me, while short, was as epic as anything I've ever written.

What can I say? I was feeling like Tommy Wiseau in the article that Steve Heisler wrote about him for the A.V. Club Chicago, where he's getting super antsy at the guy who's introducing him, who he thinks is just killing the vibe. So Wiseau just bursts on stage. In the moment where none of the articles were loading

Kiss your screen on the left. Then kiss your screen on your right. Now do it in quick procession. The mind can't process kissing at that quick a speed!

I said to mock me, not be passively aggressively sarcastic! Now try again!

So big, so important, I had to post this twice, once here and once in the inventory.

I can't take this anymore. The pop culture week isn't fucking showing up and with this one, I've got to say it. So, here goes.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus This has mostly been mentioned, but once again, leaving aside quality, The Lorax is one of only 11 films last year that made over $200 million. To put this in perspective, even a great, widely acclaimed animated film like Wreck-It-Ralph, in the prime time of November, or

@RidleyFGJ:disqus See my reply above. But short version, I made no judgement on quality, only the quantifiable fact that it made a lot of money.

@avclub-bc68599029928a93ff775e686c3be325:disqus Yeah, @avclub-9079ea527e08a24dfad44e3302d5f091:disqus got my point, which I'll admit was a bit mangled by the last line. What I was trying to go for was that March is a month where studios are releasing films which they think might have a legitimate chance for success,

@avclub-f98e8082f2b3924b8a137d1cfc12e08b:disqus I think Klausner, at least, was originally on the schedule. But I'd guess that she pulled out. However, if you like video games, The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show is doing a live video game debate game which should be fun to watch.

@avclub-9079ea527e08a24dfad44e3302d5f091:disqus Coming out in April, thus outside the parameters of this preview.

@avclub-7f7e803ee2d1481fd805f34086a52c37:disqus To be fair, the ones that weren't previewed here have quite a bit of promise. Side Effects, Oz: The Great And Powerful, Admission, and The Croods all look pretty interesting to some degree. And if you live near a major city, what's coming out in limited release seems

I actually wouldn't lump March in with the rest. When you have mega blockbusters like Alice In Wonderland, The Lorax, and The Hunger Games all open in that month, it kind of loses it's catchet as being part of the season where bad films come out to rot.

Is there anyone in the NYC area who's going to the NYC Pod Fest this weekend at the PIT? I'm going on Sunday to catch This My Show (mostly because I got a free ticket from the guy and I know him), WHM, and Dream Tweet/Proudly Resents with guest Frank Conniff. It promises to be pretty damn good!

@avclub-ffc905126015cdc6758873970fb59828:disqus I'm actually a recent alumni, graduated in May, but I love the Sci-Fi Club so much that I still go regularly. And I'd totally be down for a lunch! Are you from outside the NYC area when you're not in school?

Well, if you were at a Regal theater when you saw it, it played after the 'First Look' programming ended and when you'd assume the trailers would start up.

Man, a build up to the big concert and they don't even show the damn concert? Well, I guess we can imagine that everyone's voices was as awful as the actual actor's probably are and their beloved home was bulldozed the very next day.
