I find it a bit hard to really call him that progressive a character unless he's willing to admit that sabermetrics might have a point to it. Might be the Fire Joe Morgan fan in me thinking this, but it's still my gut feeling.

What's with using CGI blood? I noticed that in The Expendables 2 and it really was annoying. Admittedly, that film had the minor excuse of needing to add in something to make it an R rating over a PG-13.
