Even more fun than the interview for a film followed by a C+: an interview followed by no review of the film at all.

Wow, actually having the climax based around begging dad to get out of trouble? This really sounds pretty dreadful, definitely a film for the 1%, or those who have a 1% mentality.

@avclub-ba0a95f8ef733a213eb3bd8674a90453:disqus But then, why have it be a remake in the first place when it's just going to go over the heads of the main audience who's going to see it in the first place? It doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

@avclub-1d04064d540beb34e0cc414561bc6f35:disqus With Channing Tatum though, I wouldn't really consider it Hollywood trying and failing to make him a star when all three of the films he's starred in this year made over $100 million. At this point, he is a pretty big star, like it or not.

Figured this would be a good place to announce this. For those who haven't heard the news yet, the new season of Doctor Who will premiere on BBC and BBC America on September 1. Very excited to watch, especially now that I get BBC America HD.

@avclub-d324a0cc02881779dcda44a675fdcaaa:disqus To be fair to Louise Fletcher, she did go on to be one of the best recurring villains of DS9, which is certainly not too bad a role to have.

If this takes up, I'd definitely suggest doing The Unwritten at some point in the future. It's just an absolutely incredible series and would lend itself well to a discussion format.

My apologies everyone. I only brought up my opinion of his work because, when someone of well renown dies, there usually is some degree of discussion of what he or she has meant to us. I was trying to do that as well, but it obviously turned out poorly and for that, I only have to blame myself. I'm very sorry, all.

@avclub-4dae7032e72753a6c9d24a71307f561f:disqus I personally liked Bourne quite a bit more than Expendables. Out of the three recent action films I've seen, Bourne was by far the best out of them. As for the boobs question, neither has them. If you want that, the remake of Total Recall does have the three breasted…

I may not have liked a lot of his work, but I never would have wanted him to commit suicide. Very few people are that awful to have that happen. I'm very sorry to hear that he wasn't able to get the help he needed.
