I think much of the Dwight/Jim plot in this episode was driven by the possibility of the now cancelled Dwight spinoff. The reference to Dwight's never before mentioned brother and his excessive disappointment at Jim's leaving seemed to me to be in keeping with the work bus stuff showing Dwight increasingly unhappy…
