If only Slim Whitman were here.
If only Slim Whitman were here.
To HBO Go, on the double!
I could only make it a few episodes into Glee and gave out, but I do enjoy reading the (not infrequent) D and F reviews AV doles out for it.
Most of us find it terrible…..but we watch anyway.
The last book just came out. I checked out several entries ago but I did read some spoiler reviews of the latest one. Everyone hates it, and apparently it's written in third person so there is some speculation as to whether Harris even wrote it.
I caught the end too and ran over and DVR'd it on HBO West. I expect it's worth it for Retta (but it was only 15 minutes long, so at worst you won't miss too much.)
I know it was fiction, yet still I am scared of what might be living on Adrien Brody's dick after that incestuous, inter-species banging.
Her accent is regrettable, although I'm getting used to it.
As I watched last night, I wondered, "Wait-why should I not side with the humans on this?" (although since they are depicted entirely as a bunch of intolerant, God-fearing, sign-waving crackers, clearly I'm not supposed to.) Why wouldn't the world be against vampires? Their governing body were a bunch of fuck-up…
They've made so many mistakes with Lafayette, that I expect we would all hate him were Nelsan Ellis not killing it performance-wise.
@avclub-4a51fda79bbd54b4e7327dd6559b6c4d:disqus : point well taken. Also, your name rules.
I watched it live but if I may sidebar: I fucking love HBO Go.
I do remember Bill's story because I was happy that chick died. Salome, was that her name? While she looked flawless naked, her wooden performance bugged all season.
It helped me deal when the books slid into a hopeless shit pile too (if you read the series, you can stop after book 7 at the latest.) My expectations are low, the silliness and nudity soothing.
I fully wished they would kill Tara in seasons 2-4. But unexpectedly, I find vampire Tara highly tolerable. It's even forced me to re-evaluate Rutina Wesley's acting skills.
I love Lafayette. He's kind of gotten sidelined of late, but when they bring him into a main story line, all they manage to do is heap sadistic shit on him.
Arliss Howard was killing it tonight. When this show has top drawer actors (see also: Denis O'Hare, James Frain), it can really deliver.
50 Shades of Bon Temps.
I would complain about Nora being dead weight-no question her continued useless presence is inexplicable-except that's typically true of one quarter to half the cast in any given season.
I never liked Tara until they made her a vamp, and she suddenly got interesting (they also apparently brought a new writer on staff who took an interest in her.) However, she and Pam really don't have romantic chemistry, although they are charming as reluctant cohorts.
