I realize that this is probably an unpopular opinion, but Walt's reaction to Mike's murder made me care for him for the first time in forever. It was one of the most villainous acts he's ever committed, yet for a moment I thought I saw his walls of rationalization, his months of denial, shudder, perhaps even break.

Walt has killed many people directly and indirectly, but he seemed to realize with this one that his actions were completely unnecessary and fueled entirely by pride. I think something broke inside Walt tonight. There was no sudden surge of pride over defeating his enemy, just the burn of seeing himself clearly.
