The moment where he convinces Louie by doing an impression of Louie simultaneously is terrific.

It was really tough to pick one of those four for inclusion. I went with the first one because it was the most grounded in what it was like to be a cabbie.

I love that it's Mandy Patinkin (disappointingly beardless) playing the expectant father.

Such a fabulous character beat for the guy.

I thought those were both great episodes too, and they were on the short list. Vienna Waits is great but a little atypical of the series being it's not set predominantly in New York, and I thought Elegant Iggy was a stronger overall episode for Rev. Ignatowski than Jim's Inheritance.

I suspect I'll be ranting about this tomorrow.

That is a fantastic term and I am officially borrowing it for future reviews. (Credit where credit is due, of course.)

I suspect that the soldiers were given a less dangerous version so they could make a "miraculous" recovery.

Good catch. Thanks for pointing that out!

That would have been amazing, but unfortunately not - they met a few blocks from the White House, not on the mall itself.

You get bonus points for citing The Long Kiss Goodnight, which is one of my favorite Christmas movies.

I'm starting to think the show would be much better if it spent an entire episode on one storyline, as opposed to jumping back and forth between them.

Given how many interesting things happened this finale after a half season of not much happening, I'm hoping it does come back to try something news. The Borgias certainly did, so I have to maintain some interest.

I'm deeply hoping Lucy evolves into actually being a character should it make it to season two.

I tend to shut it off immediately after the last scene, both so I can start writing immediately and both so I don't let whatever the previews say shade the way I look at the episode.

I've wracked my brain and tried to come up with an explanation that makes sense, and have none.

I would love to see David and Braugher in a stern-off.

He shows up again in the fourth episode.

That's the one joke I wish in retrospect I'd managed to get into the review.

Apparently Ron Funches isn't going to be on the show going forward - he's moved onto some other projects, writing for The Kroll Show and starring on NBC's Undateable.
