I think the point of Angelus was just to keep Angel and crew busy. In fact, most of the crap of this season was just to give Jasmine time to gestate.

@silly buns, I think Lafayette lied to Jesus. He probably didn't want to have to admit how bad it was.

She knows he loves her, because when she glamoured him, he volunteered the information. Basically, stripped of all his defenses, all that's left is his love for her. It'll make her feel really guilty, and hopefully she won't do it again.

Eric still senses Sookie's distress. Since her godmother was freaking her out, he would have been drawn to attack her anyway. The fact that she's delicious made him drink her dry (which honestly didn't seem to take that long. Maybe she disappeared rather than died).

I honestly don't think you'll miss much for not seeing the first few seasons. This is pretty much a reboot aimed at a whole new audience.

Gwen is annoying. She cheats on her then boyfriend with Owen. She was flirting with Jack on her wedding day. If Jack hadn't disappeared in the first place, she probably wouldn't have gotten engaged.
