I agree.  I enjoy watching the show, but there are a lot less laughs than I remembered.  I think you are right about the predictability of some of the jokes, but I do like me some Lovitz.

I bought the series on DVD a while back, and was somewhat disappointed overall, since I had fond memories of the show.  After reading Rabin's positive reviews, I'm thinking I need to re-evaluate yet again.

You have never heard of the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation?  That is so sad.  It's the finest Christmas movie of all time.  Go watch it right now, you will not regret it.

The only movie where Ben Affleck was decent was Dazed and Confused, and that was only because he did a good job of playing the dick.

I still end up watching it roughly five times over the 24 hours that they show it every year.

I would be merry, but I'm Hebrew…

Although it was the first movie I was in after I got really fat.  So that is something.

How about asking how he looks younger now than he did in that movie 20 years ago?

"We'll be back for you!"

Dee's insults were incredibly uncomfortable, but I thoroughly enjoyed Dennis screaming at everyone.  I think the difference was that Dee's was so misplaced at an innocent person while Dennis was only making a fool of himself.

It made sense as the initiation into the loser crew.

It's been apparent that Dennis lives in an entirely different world from reality for a long time now.

Though I kind of liked the fact that with all the build up for Plan B, it turned out to be only a dance number, but I was also hoping for some grand revenge where they fucked everything up too.

It was clearly elementary school.  We saw the picture of Mac and he was only about 12.  I believe they also established early on that the McPoyles did not have history with Dennis and Dee, so they couldn't have went to high school together.

I disagree.  Charlie has always been the self-proclaimed expert on bird law.  No one else gave him that title.  He made it up himself, how is he not supposed to know it?

So I'm old and don't watch Oprah.  What are the details of a rainbow party?  Does it have to do with earning the different colored bracelets for sex acts?

Dennis' real life wife was also disgusted by him on the show.  She was the pharmacist when we first learned about the D.E.N.N.I.S. system.

"He's not a man!"

Sims has done nothing but complain about the show since season 4.  He clearly doesn't understand that we read these reviews of a 15 year old show because we remember them fondly and like to laugh.  We're not rewatching these for the plot consistencies and PC awareness.

And he's not talking in that episode, so he just smiles so proudly and taps the cartoon.  That's good shit.
