The Hobbit: Dark Side of the Shire
The Hobbit: Dark Side of the Shire
You'll notice that all the romances you like involve Picard. Patrick Stewart could sell Picard getting romantically interested in a hunk of cardboard.
As I recall, it wasn't the same-sexness that was the problem. There was a taboo about new hosts getting back together with former lovers.
50 quatloos on Cookie Monster!
Cosmology isn't dull. It's incredible, often mind-blowing stuff. The math is…well, forget the math. Only high level physicists and your crazy math prof from college can understand any of it. But the concepts are just freaky and well worth your time.
GeoGreg, that was awesome.
The man
had some pipes. I have a memory of seeing him perform at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Hope it's a real one, because it was a great performance.
Captain Marvel? Not the Billy Batson Marvel, the Marvel Marvel. He was the gold standard for really really dead there for a while.
Horse, I can't buy that. I think you could have some homophobes who might go there, but only a small sliver of the homophobe population.
They may have been over-cautious. CBS had a show called "Doctor Doctor" (with Matt Frewer in the lead) that debuted in 1989. A major recurring character was a guy playing Frewer's brother, who was explicitly out and gay. He was portrayed in a sympathetic and non-flaming manner, which always struck me.
Shit, we didn't even have massive, drug-fueled orgies in college, much less high school.
"The Host" spoiler.

As originally developed, the PD was intended to allow races to develop on their own, to become whatever they wanted to be without mucking around, however well-intentioned. Then it became a plot device to drum up conflict over letting whole…
Don't forget his mentions in old Doonesbury. Zonker studied under Tanmaster Hamilton.
OF ALL TIME!!!
Stay on target.
I didn't do or even see any of this in HS. But I was pretty square, and my town was pretty small.
Saw one of the sets for this show
We were doing the Warner Bros. deluxe tour of the backlot (which was cool and would have been more fun had we not been there doing the recent LA monsoon) and they showed us the shoe store, which at that moment was completely empty. It's kind of neat to see the show he mentioned out…
While I doubt it's aged well, BB did have some some truly wacky moments of great comedy. I recall two in particular. In one, the characters are sitting around a table pretending to be nice to one another, while we get voice overs from them betraying what they are really thinking. The other was an end of ep gag where…
Damn Chivo, a long reach for an Aggie joke. How many people on AV Club will get that one?
