@avclub-2fe2186da00dfaa4bb4829cd7655ea0d:disqus I was sold on Danny from the first line i ever heard him spit. First i heard him was on "Fire (Remix)" off of Elzhi's "The Preface" album. The man starts his verse "I fire up the blunt, and it tastes like gumbo/Hit the trees hard like George of the Jungle" Me and my

Oh i love XXX, and The Hybrid, and the Detroit State of Mind series and Hot Soup is pretty good even though its Danny at his most conventional.

I, too, am happy for Danny Brown's rise to fame. And completely baffled by it at the same time.

Rocky's album is really good if you enjoy his style. A lot of people hate on the album because of Rocky's rather shallow lyrics, but his flow is on point and the beats are top notch. IMO, a better version of his Live, Love, A$AP mixtape.

Oh i think i'm going to enjoy this gimmick account. And first time i see it its quoting Danny Brown over a Black Milk beat? Sir, you are the finest kind.

Im going to go a bit out to left field say Mobb Deep's "Hell On Earth "Animal Instinct" and "Drop a Gem on Em" set the dark apocalyptic tone of the album perfectly.

I'm kind of in the middle on this. For some reason, i can binge watch a half hour comedy no problem. I think i made it through the first season of fraiser in 2 days this past summer. When it comes to dramas, i can't do more than 2 episodes back to back. Ive been watching The Sopranos for teh better part of a year, and

The genre itself hadn't really been around long enough for upcoming artists to really have a lot of examples of middle-class rappers to follow or

Oh i wasn't trying to insinuate that you didn't know about Bumpy's continued work, just wanted to let anyone else who wasn't up to speed on the name change that he was still actively rapping, and putting out pretty solid material as well.

just a footnote to what you said, but freddie foxxx is actually still rapping, now under the name Bumpy Knuckles. He actually released an LP with DJ Premier in early 2012 called "Kolexxxion"

@avclub-e053e4f47a7ccbc51be254596e483d7c:disqus @Dnice:disqus In the old days it might have been, but now there seems to be a growing "middle class" if you will in the rap world.  There are artists considered "underground" or "independent" or what have you, but very consistently put out material and tour, and seem to

Duke finding a way to blow that game in the most painful way possible was an absolute lock. Anyone who puts money on duke football deserves that loss.

Bad boy for life has been on just about every workout playlist I've made over the last 10 years. Diddy had some good tracks in the early 2000s. Special Delivery, lets get it, etc. that era will always have a shift split in my heart.

That was awesome. As a fellow giant fan i will steal this wholesale when debating my fandom with others. Now to figure out the best way to deal with A's fans…
