FUCKING YES! This is album has been without a doubt the best surprise of the year for me. No hype or expectations going in, and it blew the doors off me.

Well said. The other thing people keep saying that pisses me off is how rap now is bad because of all the crap on the radio and its too hard to find the good stuff. First of all, shit rap has ALWAYS dominated the radio, or did everyone conveniently forget that Reasonable Doubt and Illmatic both flopped while hammer…

Best stuff of the last few years (IMO)

TI's "Bezzle" off trap muzik. Made me an instant convert.
This is the leading contender for album of the year, at this point in time. The Kendrick Lamar is definitely a contender, but i would also throw the Big KRIT album is a potential front runner. Oh, and Mike might top himself with his collaboration with Big Boi & Pill. El-P definitely wins the month, but Killer Mike…
The way the beat evolves on Don't Die is just absolutely gorgeous. The track just can't be long enough.
I know, right? Who would have thought that no Just Blaze, Kanye West, or Jay-Z would render Bleek unlistenable?
Memphis Bleek actually released a mixtape about a month or two back. It was….less than impressive.
I don't think i've ever REALLY liked an Ab-Soul release until like 3 months down the road. I was way down on Longterm Mentality for like 5 months until a relisten just completely clicked for me. All that to say that i definitely prefer H&C at teh moment, but i reserve teh right to change that opinion.
For me its easy, Da Art of Storytellin' Part 1. Every time he gets to "I said what you want to be, she said alive" it hurts me. So so so so so good.
1. ATLiens

4. Stankonia
5. Speakerboxxx/The love Below
6. Idlewild
Cam doesn't get enough respect for his lyricism. I'm not saying he's any type of all-time great, but his first two albums were good with some more serious stuff. Everything after that is more hit or miss, but he has his moments of genius. After "S.D.E." its like he stopped going for emotion and just tried to create…
I'm not sure i'll ever laugh harder than the first time i heard that. The Diplomats in general had some nice skits. The "Have You Seen Juelz Santana" skit in particular is one that still gets a decent chuckle out of me when i play Diplomatic Immunity.
Love this album. "Sex Drive" is the only track I would say I dislike, but i still have a hard time skipping it. The album as a whole is just so interesting and engaging, it really does a good job keeping the listener in its atmosphere. B+/A- in my opinion. Kendrick's verse on "blessed" is just phenomenal.
Haven't had the chance to listen to XXX, but still feel compelled to comment in support of Mr. Brown. I still get mad listening to the Black & Brown EP wishing it was longer.
